Using Access Central Over Networks You can control all aspects of Access Central over a Network. You will need Microsoft Access installed on each PC, and a copy of Access Central.mdb. The Host Access Control PC (AccessServer) need not have Microsoft Access installed unless you also wish to use this PC for programming. Access Control Host Computer Assumptions (AccessServer) All access control field hardware components are connected to this computer. All access control system configuration files are located in: c:\tc85dir subdirectory. Access Central.mdb (if installed) is located in: c:\tc85dir subdirectory. Log.mdb is located in: c:\tc85dir subdirectory. The master system log file named tclog.dta is in the: c:\tc85dir subdirectory Running Access Central.mdb On A Network To run Access Central.mdb on a remote work station, you must change several path statements in the copy of Access Central located on these computers so that they link to all the files on the AccessServer database Module Paths Unhide the Access Central database window If no modules are visible, go to Tools, Options, and check: Show Hidden Objects There are 5 path references contained in database modules. To change all the path statements at one once: 1. Place any Module in the design mode 2. Select Replace from the Edit Menu 3. In the Replace dialog box, for Find What: Enter: c:\tc85dir 4. For Replace with: Enter the new path 5. For Search: Enter Current Database 6. Select: Replace All 7. From the Debug Menu, select: Compile and Save All Modules Tables You Must Link If You Have The Master Access Central.mdb on the AccessServer The following tables must be re-linked using: Tools, Add Ins, Linked Table Manager Cards
